What Makes the Amalfi Different?

The Amalfi stands out for two defining design details: its wrap-around frame construction and finger-rebated drawer handles. Rather than using a traditional four-leg or four-post structure, the Amalfi is built with a continuous timber surround that wraps around the cabinet, creating a seamless, enclosed profile with no visible joinery lines across the front face.

Wrap-Around Frame

This continuous frame removes the visual gaps typically seen between the top, sides, and base on legged designs such as the Carlton or Caroline. The result is a more grounded, architectural look.

Because the surround forms a continuous structure, the timber grain can run cleanly across the front and side panels without interruption, highlighting the natural character of the wood.

Finger-Rebated Handles

Instead of external knobs or bar handles, each drawer front features a rebated finger groove routed along the top edge. This keeps the drawer faces completely flush, preserving the clean lines of the design while avoiding hardware that can catch clothing or snag bed linen.

The combination of the wrap-around frame and integrated handles gives the Amalfi one of the cleanest front profiles in our bedside collection – which is why it remains our bestselling design.

It pairs especially well with uniform-grain timbers such as Victorian Ash and American Oak, where the uninterrupted surfaces allow the natural grain to flow consistently across the piece.

The Amalfi range includes six standard configurations: three bedside tables and three slimboys. Each layout can be customised in width, height, and depth to suit your space. All designs share the same Amalfi construction: a 40mm mitre-joined solid timber top, wrap-around frame, and rebated drawer handles.

Our Timber Species

The Amalfi bedside table is available in nine solid hardwood species, including seven Australian natives and two imported timbers. Each species offers its own distinctive character, with variations in colour, grain pattern, and surface hardness, allowing you to choose a timber that best suits your bedroom style and interior palette.
