What Makes the Denmark Bedside Different?

The Denmark bedside is defined by its Scandinavian-inspired proportions, careful construction, and a range that scales from compact bedsides up to full-height slimboys. 

Unlike some of the other designs in the collection, which feature distinctive construction details, such as the Contempo‘s shadowline detail or the Carlton with bevelled edges, the Denmark lets the timber do the talking. The design’s restraint is its signature.

Low-Profile Proportions

Design A stands 555mm high, around 85mm lower than the typical 640mm bedside height found across many of our other designs. This lower profile works well beside platform beds and low bed frames, and helps create the long, horizontal look often associated with Scandinavian and resort-style interiors.

The Denmark bed frame follows the same principle, with a low bedhead that emphasises horizontal lines. The bedside tables mirror this proportion, maintaining a consistent visual balance.

30mm Top, Recessed Skirting, 25mm Drawer Spacing

The Denmark is built around a few carefully considered construction details: a 30mm solid timber top with a 10mm overhang, an 80mm recessed skirting board at the base, and 25mm spacing between each drawer front. These small details give the piece its balanced proportions.

Drawer fronts feature rebated finger handles as standard, though external hardware options (including knobs, pulls, or bar handles) are also available if you prefer a more visible handle style.

Resort-Style Suite Integration

This is the only design in our range where the Denmark bed frame offers integrated bedside cabinets built into the bedhead. This creates a single, continuous structure that runs across the width of the bed.

The standalone Denmark bedsides follow the same proportions, so they can be used as freestanding pieces or alongside the integrated bed frame depending on the room layout.

All layouts share the same construction details: a 30mm solid timber top, 80mm recessed skirting, 25mm spacing between drawer fronts, and rebated drawer handles. Custom drawer arrangements or sizing adjustments can also be quoted if required.

Our Timber Species

The Denmark range is available in 9 solid hardwood species: 7 Australian natives and 2 imported. The Scandinavian-inspired form suits both light-grain species for a classic Nordic aesthetic and warm character timbers for a richer, resort-style feel.
