The Genoa is the most sculptural design in our bedside collection. Its stepped, tiered construction places the upper drawer section slightly set back from the lower cabinet, while the top panel extends beyond both levels.
The piece has a layered profile with a small open niche between the tiers for keeping everyday items within easy reach. Finger-pull drawers keep the front clean and free of external hardware, maintaining the design’s simple lines.
The Genoa range includes three layouts, each offering a different drawer configuration while maintaining the same compact 500 × 450mm footprint. For a coordinated bedroom, the design can also be paired with the Genoa bed frame to create a matching suite.

What Makes the Genoa Different?
The Genoa is the only bedside in our range built as a stepped, tiered construction rather than a single enclosed box. The upper drawer section is set back from the lower, and the top panel extends beyond both, creating a layered profile with distinct planes at different depths.
Most of our designs, such as the Amalfi, Contempo, and Denmark, present a single flush front face, while the Genoa deliberately breaks that plane into tiers.
Stepped Tiered Construction
The upper drawer section of the Genoa sits behind the lower tier, with the top panel projecting slightly beyond both sections. This arrangement creates a stacked profile, where each layer sits at a different depth. The result is a series of subtle shadow lines that give the piece a more sculptural presence. Between the tiers is a small open niche, offering convenient space for items such as a phone, glasses, or a book without needing to open a drawer.
Finger-Pull Drawers — No Hardware
Each drawer front features a routed finger-pull groove along the underside. There are no external knobs or handles, allowing the timber surfaces to remain clean and uninterrupted. This keeps the focus on the stepped form of the cabinet rather than additional hardware.
3 Layout Variations — Same Footprint
All three Genoa layouts share the same 500 × 450 × 640mm dimensions, but the drawer arrangements differ slightly. Design A features two drawers across two tiers, while Designs B and C each include three drawers with different tier configurations. This allows you to choose a layout that suits your storage needs while keeping the same overall proportions.
The Genoa’s tiered profile works particularly well with species that have strong visual character — Tasmanian Blackwood’s fiddleback figure, WA Marri’s gum veins, or Camphor Laurel’s multi-tonal grain — because the stepped planes expose grain at different depths and catch light at different angles.
