What Are Timber Bedside Tables?
A timber bedside table is solid hardwood through and through. The top, sides, drawers, and frame are all the same solid timber. That's different from most "wooden" furniture, which is really MDF or particleboard with a timber-look veneer. A good one has five parts: a solid top (20–25mm thick), the carcass, legs or plinth base, drawer runners, and one to three drawers. How long it lasts depends on the hardwood species and its Janka hardness rating, which measures resistance to dents and wear. Standard sizes run 550–650mm high, 450–550mm wide, and 400–450mm deep.
